About the Role

Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council is seeking caring and reliable Casual Aged Care Support Workers to join our Aged Care team.

This hands-on role supports the Elders of Kowanyama through the delivery of personal care, meals, social activities, and community support in line with each Elder’s care plan.

You’ll be part of a close-knit team that ensures Elders receive the respect, care, and dignity they deserve.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Elders with personal care, meal preparation, and laundry.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in the Aged Care Centre.
• Support cultural and social activities, including outings on country.
• Transport and escort Elders to appointments or community events as required.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and Aged Care protocols.

Women’s Shelter Team Leader

This full-time role leads the day-to-day operations of the Women’s Shelter, ensuring a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for women accessing the service. The Women’s Shelter Team Leader will supervise staff, coordinate programs and support services, and work closely with community agencies to deliver high-quality care and positive outcomes for residents.
