Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council, in partnership with State Library of Queensland, is proud to launch a new community space where locals can explore cutting-edge digital technology. 

From digital storytelling to creative design, this will be a welcoming space for everyone to learn digital skills to inquire, create and communicate with new media tools.

Free Digital & You Workshops – May 2025

This May, we’re offering three exciting FREE workshops where you can connect with technology, learn new skills, and have fun!  The workshops are for people of all ages, and you don’t need any digital experience to come and have a go. 

  • Digital Storytelling – 10am to 2pm, Tuesday 6 May 2025
    Bring your stories to life using digital software and tools! Learn how to build and publish your own eBook using images, text, and design. 
  • Digital Arts – 10am to 2pm, Wednesday 7 May 2025
    Unleash your inner digital artist! Learn how to create stunning digital drawings, set up canvases, select colour palettes, and print your own design on a T-shirt to take home.
  • Who’s Your Mob? – 10am to 2pm, Thursday 8 May 2025
    Celebrate and record your heritage. Discover how to access digital records and research the roots of your mob to preserve and share your family history and stories.
