Description

Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council Invites Expressions of Interest from local businesses, contractors and organisations seeking to lease secure storage compound areas within Kowanyama. 

The purpose of this EOI is to formalise the occupation and use of Council-owned compound areas and ensure all occupiers operate under an approved agreement and comply with Council requirements. 

Council intends to enter into a licence agreement with successful applicants for the occupation of the nominated compound. 

How to Apply

Applicants must complete all required sections of the Application Form and provide sufficient information to allow Council to assess the proposed use of the nominated compound. 

Applications and supporting documents are to be submitted by email to tenders@kowanyama.qld.gov.au and must include the EOI number in the subject line (KASC-2026-060).

Freight Services – Road Transport of Goods between Cairns and Kowanyama

Tender Description

Council wishes to engage a road freight contractor to provide a regular road freight delivery between Cairns and Kowanyama.  The initial period of appointment will be two (2) years, with an additional year possible at Council’s discretion.

Request for Tender – Kowanyama Museum Cultural Vault Construction

Description

Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council invites suitably qualified and experienced construction contractors to undertake the construction of the Kowanyama Museum Cultural Vault in accordance with the approved design/ technical specification documentation provided.

The facility is to be constructed on lot 135 on SP272069. The land in question is held by Council, and the project’s impact on determined Native Title and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage rights and interests have been validated by way of registered Indigenous Land Use Agreement with the National Native Title Tribunal (expected to be registered by close of tender). Indigenous rights and interests are to be acknowledged and respected by selected contractors.
